Chapter 1

THE BIG QUESTION!

WHERE WILL SPEND ETERNITY?

If you die today where are you going heaven or hell? Our time on earth is very short!  Each closing year, each setting sun, each tick of the clock is shortening our days on earth and surely carrying us on to eternity.  The moment will soon arrive which will close our lives on earth and begin either a song in heaven or a wail in hell.  "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14 KJV).

You may be busy at work, your eyes are seeing, your mind is thinking, you are planning for the future. …And tomorrow all is gone!  Are you prepared for eternity?  Where will you spend it?  Heaven or Hell. A bus conductor  said to a preacher I am still very young let me enjoy myself, after I will give my life to God, but that day he was knocked down by motorcar. Now is the time  to accept the love gift of God . Give your life to Jesus today tomorrow may be too late.

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:36-38 KJV).

For what are you living?  Where are you going?  Do you want to meet God with your soul unsaved?   Do you think a holy God will admit you to heaven in your sins?

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. … For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3: 5-7,16-18 KJV)

The choice is yours today!  "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:36 KJV). God says if you are trusting Jesus Christ completely for your salvation, then you have everlasting life.  You are not going to have it someday.  You have it now.  John 3:18 says: "He that believeth on him is not condemned."  In this passage He promises that the person who is trusting Jesus Christ completely for salvation is no longer under the sentence.  The sentence has been lifted.  He is not condemned.  He does not have to pay the sin debt.  It has been paid for him.

What better assurance can you have than God's own Words?  It is impossible for God to lie (Hew. 6:18). Trust Him today for your salvation.  The worst sin is not trusting Jesus Christ as Saviour, and that is the only sin for which a man will go to Hell.  Have you given your life to Him?  Do you what to that now?  Will you trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?   If you will trust Him pray this simple prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I do believe that You died for me. And the best I know how, I do trust You as my Saviour.  Now help me to live for You and to be a good Christian. Amen.

If you prayed this simple prayer and mean it from your heart, then you may be sure that you have everlasting life and you will never perish.  That is what Jesus promised and He cannot lie.

Chapter 2

DON’T REJECT GOD’S GIFT

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”( Rom 3:23). “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”( Rom 6:23). “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”(John 3:16-18).

I read about an unusual incident that happened in the time when Andrew Jackson was the President of the United States of America. A man named George Wilson, along with an accomplice, killed a government employee in the process of robbing the US Mail in 1829. Upon his conviction Wilson was sentenced to be hanged.

In 1830, President Jackson issued a pardon for Wilson. The curious thing was that Wilson rejected the pardon. Unsure how to proceed in this matter, the government took the case to the Supreme Court. After deliberation, the Court's decision was written by Chief Justice John Marshall. Here's a quote: “A pardon is a slip of paper, the value of which is determined by the acceptance of the person to be pardoned. If it is refused, it is no pardon. George Wilson must be hanged.” And Wilson was hanged.

That incident is like the offer of pardon that is made to all sinners through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, and his resurrection. The fact that pardon was offered freely, does not ensure the salvation of one's soul. That pardon must be accepted, or the ultimate and eternal punishment must be administered.

I read another incident again in a tract published by Faith Publishing House about a young man who lived in the western states. He had never done anything very wrong. But one day he was playing a game of cards and he lost his temper. Picking up a revolver, he shot his opponent and killed him. He was arrested and tried. Finally he was sentenced to hang. But because of the wonderful life he had lived previously, his relatives and friends prepared a petition for him. It seemed as though everyone wanted to sign it. Before long other towns and villages heard about it, and people all over the state eagerly signed the petition. At last it was taken to the governor, who happened to be a Christian, and tears came to his eyes as he looked at the large baskets filled with petitions.

He decided to pardon the young man and so, writing out the pardon, he put it in his pocket, and then, dressed in the garb of a clergyman, he made his way to the prison. As he approached the death cell, the young man sprang to the bars. "Get out of here!" he cried. "I don't want to see you. I have had seven of your kind already. I had enough religion at home." "But," said the governor, "wait a moment, young man. I have something for you. Let me talk to you." "Listen," exclaimed the young man in anger, "if you don't get out of here at once, I'll call the guard and have you put out." "But, young man," exclaimed the governor, "I have news for you, the very best. Won't you let me tell you about it?" "You heard what I said," responded the young man, "and if you don't leave immediately, I'll call the warden." "Very well," replied the governor, and with a sad heart he turned away and left.

In a few moments the warden came near. "Well, young m; n," he said, "I see you have had a visit from the governor." "What!" cried the young man. "Was that man dressed in the garb of a clergyman the governor?" "He was," replied the warden, "and he had a pardon in his pocket for you, but you wouldn't even listen to him." "Get me a pen, get me ink, get me paper," cried the young man. And sitting down he wrote, "Dear Governor, I owe you an apology. I am sorry for the way I treated you..." The governor received the letter, turned it over, and wrote on the back, "No longer interested in this case."

The day came for the young man to die. "Is there anything you want to say before you die?" he was asked. "Yes," the young man said. "Tell the young men of America that I am not dying because I am a murderer. The governor pardoned me. I could have lived. Tell them," he continued, "that I am dying because I did not accept the governor's pardon."

My dear, if you are lost, it will be because you will not accept the gift of pardon that God offers you through His Son. For if you refuse Jesus Christ, what can God do? You are turning down your one and only hope of salvation. "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" ( John 3:18). That, is the reason you are condemned. You will never die because you are a murderer, for God can forgive murderers. You will never perish because you are a drunkard, a thief, or an adulterer and fornicator. God can forgive drunkards, thieves, fornicator and adulterers. But there is one sin that even God Himself cannot forgive, and that is the rejection of His Son.

Are you rejecting God’s gift of pardon or you are accepting it? The choice is yours to make today. Today Jesus offers to you a complete pardon and eternal life. Receive Him now and be saved from spending your eternity in Hell. Tell Him right now that you need Him and want His complete forgiveness and that you want Him to take full control of your life.

Accept the pardon of the Lord Jesus Christ today and you will be saved.

Chapter 3

DRAW NEAR TO GOD

"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)" -Heb 10:22-23(KJV)

Enjoy your full rights in Christ by drawing near to God, have a pure conscience, have clean body, have unwavering faith, provoke others to good works, be regular church attendant and exhort one another daily. Your body is not created for infirmities and illnesses. It is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor. 6:19).

Poverty and material deprivation, lack and insufficiency will no longer be your lot. God created the wealth of this planet and He placed it here for the prosperity of his children. The abundance which He created all around you is a proof that He wills them for you. He promises “to supply all your needs according to His riches by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19). Poverty and material deprivation, lack and insufficiency is not your portion. God’s wealth is for you.

STEWARDSHIP OF TALENTS

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might” Eccl 9:10-(KJV). You are good at something. What is it? ..That is a talent. When we use our talents directly for the glory of God, it becomes an eternal investment. No talent is too small to be of service for the Lord. Talents used for God increases in value. Everyone of us has been given special ability. How do you use your own?

God has never made inferior human being. We are created in His Image and His Likeness. Let me tell you the simple truth- doing with it? Are you like the unfaithful servant? Who said: “...Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth”(Mt. 25:24-25).

God does not make mistakes! He does not create people and then try to figure out what to do with them. You are good for something. God created you and He also gives you potentials. What are you doing with it? Are you like the unfaithful servant? Who said: “...Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth”(Mt. 25:24-25).

The potentials and the creative ability that God gave to everyone of us cannot be in use when we are complaining and apportioning blame. You are good at something! Don’t hide it. Use it for God.

LET YOUR MIND STAY IN GOD!

If you never used your mind to put yourself before God, begin to do it now. It is no use waiting for God to come; you must put your mind away from the face of idols and look unto Him and be saved.

Imagination is one of the greatest gift God has given us and it ought to be devoted entirely to Him. If you have been bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, it will be one of the greatest assets to faith when the time of trial comes, and because your faith and the Spirit of God will work together.

We must be purposeful when we read the word of God for only a focus mind will be blessed.

Your hope in God should not be allowed to faint and die away. The psalmist says: “With my whole heart have I sought thee” (Ps.119:10). “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (Is. 55:6-7).

Our victory is in the seeking of God with all our mind and with all our soul.

Don’t give up, keep seeking!

Chapter 4

UNCONFESSED AND UNREPENTED SIN

One Of The Hindrances To Prayer Is Unconfessed And Unrepented Sin. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."( Psalm 66:18). I want you to notice what God did NOT say. God did not say that if I have sinned, He will not hear me. Thank God, He did not say that; for if He had then God could never hear a human being pray. For all of us have sinned. He did not even say that if at this moment there is any sin in the life, He would not hear us. For I John 1:8 teaches us plainly that all of us have (present tense) sin in our lives all the time. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

The constant presence of human frailty, of bodily illness, the encroachments of age and infirmity, the limitations to our prayer and soul winning, all testify that we have sin, even now, and that we will have until we are translated when Jesus comes, or until we die. If Paul needed to say, "When I would do good, evil is present with me" (Rom. 7:21), so do the rest of us need to say it. I cannot come to God and ask anything of Him on the basis that I am sinless and perfect and that there is not in my heart, unknown to me, unseen to my neighbours, a single thing that is less than His best, a single thing that is not as pure as an angel or as Christ Himself. No, no! I am a sinner. But I can still get my prayers answered.

God be with you.
